My classmate is
tall, at least to me. As I am 5’4” and wear flat shoes but perhaps there have
always been heels, boots to give added height. Most importantly, this student
is calm and thoughtful, inspiring to the excitable and pensive. Were it not for
the time taken to serve as a guide to an underclassman (if that is the right
term among graduate students of different years), I think I might have gotten
lost once or twice. When eyes look, wide and open and deeply colored, in to
your own while listening to thoughts and concerns—there is warmth of heart
shared. Such have been my exchanges with this person who is the kind of person
who is not afraid to embrace style and color, articulate in class discussions,
emanating grace while remaining true to the self.
